For college juniors who are student members of SAE
Program Outline
This scholarship recognizes outstanding SAE student members who actively support SAE and its activities. Established in 1994, the scholarship is sponsored by the SAE Foundation and is funded through contributions from long-term (25, 35 and 50 year) members of SAE. Many of these members have elected to fund this scholarship in place of receiving a Long Term Recognition Award from SAE.
Eligibility
- Applications may be submitted by the student or
by the SAE faculty advisor, an SAE Section officer or
a community leader.
- Each application must include support and recommendation
from at least one of the aforementioned individuals
in addition to the student's written citations.
- The student must be a student member of SAE who
actively supports SAE and its programs.
- The student must be a junior who will be entering
the senior year of undergraduate engineering studies
between August 2005 and February 2006.
- Grade point average is not a determining factor
within the scope of this scholarship.
Selection
Selection will be administered by the SAE Scholarship
Committee who will review the application and all of
the supporting material. The scholarship will be awarded
purely on the basis of the student's support for SAE
and its programs, the collegiate chapter or the local
SAE Section and its activities. Recipients will receive
notification by July 30, 2005.
Financial Support
Several $1,000 nonrenewable scholarships will be awarded.
Funding levels at the time of selection will determine
the number of scholarships available for the 2005/2006
academic year.
