High School Seniors - for the Freshman Year
University-Sponsored Scholarships
In addition to the other endowed scholarships offered by SAE, many engineering colleges and universities have chosen to offer their own scholarship through SAE International. These scholarships are sponsored by the participating universities and colleges, and range in value from $400 to full tuition.
Criteria are established and all applications are judged by the universities. The applicant must apply to and attend the named university. Once awarded, these scholarships are not transferable to another university.
Application for a university sponsored scholarship does not constitute application for admission to the college or university. All sponsored scholarships are contingent upon the student's enrollment in an accredited engineering curriculum. The student is responsible for making application for admission to the college or university. If application to the school is not made before January 15, the application will be disqualified.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
- Intend to earn a degree in engineering or a related science or as defined by the individual university criteria (see details for each university scholarship).
- Meet minimum requirements (see details for each university scholarship).
- Be a citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the date of the application.
- Be a high school senior at the time of application (Sept. 1 - Dec. 1).
Application Instructions:
- Review the details for the scholarship from any university to which you plan to apply.
- Download the application and save it on your computer as a Word document.
- Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
- Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.
- Submit a copy of your official transcript to:
