University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: Alfred State College

VERNON GLEASMAN SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Located in scenic Western New York State, Alfred State College offers outstanding educational opportunities for students in its over 70 academic programs. With a student population of approximately 3,300, students learn in a small classroom setting where they receive personal attention from faculty members who are experts in their field.

Within the School of Management and Engineering Technology, Alfred State offers both associate and baccalaureate degrees in architectural, computer, construction management, electrical, electromechanical, manufacturing, mechanical, and surveying engineering technologies, and three programs in information technology as well as majors in digital media and animation, financial planning, forensic science technology, and technology management. The programs are structured for maximum degree flexibility - students may enter directly into a baccalaureate level program or they may enter an associate level program with the option of work or further study for an advanced degree at Alfred State or elsewhere at the end of two years.

Student Eligibility Requirements:

  • Accepted as an incoming freshman or transfer student at this university.
  • Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.
  • Be academically prepared to pursue an associate or baccalaureate degree in Engineering Technology.
  • Preference will be given to students enrolling in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Design Engineering Technology.

Terms of Scholarship:

  • One $500 scholarship will be offered for the freshman year.
  • This scholarship is not transferable to another university.

Application Deadline: December 15

How to Apply:

  • Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
  • Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
  • Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.
  • Submit copy of your official transcript to:

  • All information must be submitted by December 15.
  • Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.

Selection and Announcement of Recipient:

  • Recipient will be selected and notified by this university.
  • Preference will be given to students enrolling in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Design Engineering Technology.
  • Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.

Terms for Renewal of Scholarship: This scholarship is not renewable.
