University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: Gannon University

SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Gannon University is a private, Catholic liberal arts University. Founded in 1925, Gannon is located in the northwestern corner of Pennsylvania, in Erie. Gannon's undergraduate enrollment is approximately 3,000, with a graduate enrollment of 500.

Gannon offers academic programs in business, education, engineering, health sciences, humanities and sciences. Gannon's engineering programs at the undergraduate level include ABET accredited Electrical and Mechanical Engineering; and a cooperative program in Chemical Engineering. In addition, Gannon offers Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the graduate level.

The engineering programs are designed to prepare students for employment in research, development, design and production in industry or government, as well as to assure a high level of preparation for those students who continue on to advanced studies.

All accepted students are considered for merit scholarships. In addition, students who submit the Gannon financial aid application will receive an estimate of any need-based aid they qualify for.

Student Eligibility Requirements:

  • High school senior at the time of application.
  • Accepted as an incoming freshman to one of Gannon University's Engineering programs.
  • Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.
  • Scholarships will be awarded based on SAT/ACT, rank in class, and grade point average.

Terms of Scholarship:

  • One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded.
  • Renewable for three years if a 3.0 GPA is maintained.
  • This scholarship is not transferable to another university.

Application Deadline: December 15

How to Apply:

  • Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
  • Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
  • Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.
  • Submit copy of your official transcript to:

  • All information must be submitted by December 15.
  • Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.

Selection and Announcement of Recipient:

  • Scholarships will be awarded based on SAT/ACT, rank in class, and grade point average.
  • Recipient(s) will be selected and notified by this university.
  • Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.

Terms for Renewal of Scholarship:

  • May be renewed directly through the university for three additional years if criteria are met.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
