University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: Grand Valley State University

PADNOS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & COMPUTING SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Grand Valley State University is a comprehensive public university of approximately 23,000 students serving West Michigan. With three campuses in Allendale, Grand Rapids and Holland, Michigan, GVSU is located in an area with a well-diversified industrial base. All engineering students in the Padnos College of Engineering & Computing participate in an integrated cooperative education program. GVSU offers an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering with mechanical, computer, electrical, interdisciplinary, and product design and manufacturing emphases.

The scholarships are provided through funding from the Seymour and Esther Padnos Endowment.

Student Eligibility Requirements:

  • High school senior at the time of application.
  • Accepted as an incoming freshman at this university.
  • Planning to pursue a degree in engineering on a full time basis.
  • Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.

Terms of Scholarship:

  • One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded for the freshman year.
  • This scholarship is not transferable to another university.

Application Deadline: December 15

How to Apply:

  • Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
  • Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
  • Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.
  • Submit copy of your official transcript to:

  • All information must be submitted by December 15.
  • Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.

Selection and Announcement of Recipient:

  • Recipient(s) will be selected and notified by this university.
  • Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.

Terms for Renewal of Scholarship: This scholarship is not renewable.
