University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: Michigan State University

SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Michigan State University is a Land Grant and an AAU university that is known world wide for its excellence in education. It has a strong tradition of producing Rhodes Scholars, Truman Scholars, and Churchill Fellows. Michigan State University is among the top research institutions in the United States. Its commitment to diversity is among the strongest in the nation. It operates the largest study-abroad program in the United States, and is committed to providing undergraduate research experiences to qualified students. The College of Engineering enrolls over 3,800 students in the following majors: Applied Engineering Sciences, Biosystems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The College has a large number of engineering student organizations and competes strongly in student design competitions.

Student Eligibility Requirements:

  • High school senior accepted as an incoming freshman at this university.
  • Intend to pursue a degree in the College of Engineering.
  • Have strong interest in the automotive industry.
  • Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.
  • Selection will be based on high school grades, ACT or SAT scores, and quality of essay in relation to student's goals.

Terms of Scholarship:

  • One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded for the freshman year.
  • This scholarship is not transferable to another university.

Application Deadline: December 15

How to Apply:

  • Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
  • Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
  • Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.
  • Submit copy of your official transcript to:

  • All information must be submitted by December 15.
  • Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.

Selection and Announcement of Recipient:

  • Recipient(s) will be selected and notified by this university.
  • Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.

Terms for Renewal of Scholarship: This scholarship is not renewable.
