University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: Ohio Northern University

SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Ohio Northern University is located on a beautiful 300 acre campus located in Ada, 15 miles east of Lima, Ohio. The College of Engineering provides rigorous programs in civil, computer, electrical and mechanical engineering and computer science. The four engineering programs are accredited by the EAC of ABET. Hands on laboratory intensive programs coupled with client-oriented, team-based projects in our wireless-enabled engineering building helps ONU educate its highly regarded graduates. Student Eligibility Requirements:

  • High school senior accepted as an incoming freshman at this university.
  • Intend to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Admitted to the College of Engineering.
  • Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.
  • Minimum 1230 SAT or 27 ACT composite score.
  • Minimum 3.5 grade point average.
  • Recipient will be expected to participate and hopefully assume a leadership role with the SAE Collegiate Chapter at Ohio Northern University

Terms of Scholarship:

  • Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
  • Renewable for 3 additional years if criteria are met.
  • This scholarship is not transferable to another university.

Application Deadline: December 15

How to Apply:

  • Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
  • Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
  • Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.
  • Submit copy of your official transcript to:

  • All information must be submitted by December 15.
  • Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.

Selection and Announcement of Recipient:

  • Recipient(s) will be selected and notified by this university.
  • Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.

Terms for Renewal of Scholarship:

  • May be renewed directly through the university for three additional years if criteria are met.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • Remain enrolled full-time in the mechanical engineering program at ONU.
