University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: Penn State University
ENGEX SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Penn State's College of Engineering is dedicated to educating engineers who apply high ethical and performance standards, who have creative problem-solving abilities and outstanding leadership skills, and who are committed to enhancing society and protecting the environment. Penn State's College of Engineering is dedicated to educating World-Class Engineers.
Today, there are 7,000 students in the College of Engineering at the University Park Campus and at campuses throughout the state. Students in the College of Engineering declare one of the following majors: Aerospace, Agricultural and Biological, Architectural, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Computer Science, Electrical, Engineering Science, Industrial, Mechanical and Nuclear. Incorporated into all programs is the opportunity for creativity and innovation, with an emphasis on design.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
- High school senior accepted as an incoming freshman at this university.
- Intend to pursue a degree in engineering.
- Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.
- Selection will be based on high school grades and ACT or SAT scores.
Terms of Scholarship:
- One $3,000 scholarship will be awarded.
- Renewable for 3 additional years if criteria are met.
- This scholarship is not transferable to another university.
Application Deadline: December 15
How to Apply:
- Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
- Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
- Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.

- All information must be submitted by December 15.
- Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.
Selection and Announcement of Recipient:
- Recipient(s) will be selected and notified by this university.
- Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.
Terms for Renewal of Scholarship:
- May be renewed directly through the university for three additional years if criteria are met.
