University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: University of Central Missouri

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
The UCM Automotive Technology SAE Engineering Scholarship at the University of Central Missouri is open to applicants who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive Technology Management. UCM is a comprehensive, public university dedicated to providing personalized higher education experiences for a diverse body of students. Central is Missouri's lead institution in professional technology. Widely known for its prominence in the technical fields, Central is committed to the comprehensive application of technology throughout the curriculum. The automotive program at Central is one of only twenty in the United States to offer a B.S. degree in Automotive Technology. Central is located in Warrensburg, 50 miles east of Kansas City.

The Automotive Technology Management Program offers three areas of study: automotive technology, design technology, and service technology. This program provides specialized training for students entering the automotive industry in a variety of fields. At Central we are proud to offer some of the finest facilities and latest equipment available.

Student Eligibility Requirements:

  • High school senior accepted as an incoming freshman at this university.
  • Intend to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive/Power Technology.
  • Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.
  • Minimum 25 ACT composite score.
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA.
  • Upper 15% of graduating class.

Terms of Scholarship:

  • One $500 scholarship will be awarded.
  • Renewable for 3 additional years if criteria are met.
  • This scholarship is not transferable to another university.

Application Deadline: December 15

How to Apply:

  • Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
  • Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
  • Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.
  • Submit copy of your official transcript to:

  • All information must be submitted by December 15.
  • Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.

Selection and Announcement of Recipient:

  • Recipient(s) will be selected and notified by this university.
  • Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.

Terms for Renewal of Scholarship:

  • May be renewed directly through the university for two additional years if criteria are met.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
