University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: University of Evansville
JOHN R. TOOLEY SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
The University of Evansville is an independent liberal arts and science University, located on the banks of the Ohio River in southwestern Indiana. The University has five colleges and schools, including Harlaxton College, the University's British campus. Founded in 1854, this United Methodist Church-related institution offers more than 80 academic areas and a full range of degree programs. Approximately 2,500 students from 45 states and 49 countries study on its beautiful 80-acre campus.
The College of Engineering and Computer Science is composed of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering. Baccalaureate degrees are offered in the professional areas of computer science, computer engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. A Baccalaureate degree in engineering management is offered in conjunction with the School of Business Administration. A cooperative education plan for all of the College's B.S. programs is available as an alternative to the traditional four-year plan.
The civil, computer, electrical and mechanical engineering degrees are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Membership is available in student chapters of several national professional societies including: ACM, IEEE, ASME, ASCE, SAE, SWE and NSBE.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
- High school senior accepted as an incoming freshman at this university.
- Accepted in the School of Engineering.
- Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.
- Selection will be based on academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular activities
- Minimum 1800 SAT Reasoning Test Score or 27 ACT scores.
- Minimum 3.5 grade point average.
Terms of Scholarship:
- Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
- Renewable for 3 additional years if criteria are met.
- This scholarship is not transferable to another university.

How to Apply:
- Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
- Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
- Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.

- All information must be submitted by December 15.
- Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.
Selection and Announcement of Recipient:
- Recipient(s) will be selected and notified by this university.
- Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.
Terms for Renewal of Scholarship:
- May be renewed directly through the university for three additional years if criteria are met.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
