University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: Whitworth University

SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Whitworth University is a private, residential, liberal arts university that was founded in 1890 and is located in the Pacific Northwest. Its 200-acre wooded campus offers students a dynamic learning environment. Whitworth enrolls approximately 2100 students representing over 30 states and 25 nations. A Whitworth education is characterized by academic excellence, the integration of faith and learning, abundant opportunities to engage in research and service, one of the best study-abroad programs in the nation and thorough preparation for careers with purpose. Today's engineer requires great breadth in educational background. It is no longer enough to have mastery of the technical aspects of engineering. A strong liberal arts background also prepares an engineer to better anticipate, understand and adapt to new and changing conditions, whether they be social, economic, cultural or political, that will affect the development of technology. More and more employers prefer to hire the liberally educated engineer.

Whitworth University offers a Dual Degree Engineering program designed to address the needs of the modern engineer. Students typically study at Whitworth for three years, completing their general education graduation requirements, then complete two years at a partner engineering university. Upon completion of the BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited university, students also receive a BA from Whitworth University. Through our partnerships, students are able to pursue degrees in Aerospace Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Systems Engineering. For more information, visit Whitworth's website at www.whitworth.edu.
