University-Sponsored SAE Engineering Scholarships: Wichita State University
SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Wichita State University is located in the largest city in Kansas, which allows students to enjoy the convenience and educational advantages of a dynamic metropolitan setting. The College of Engineering has approximately 1,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate students. Of our distinguished faculty, fifty earned the Ph.D. from thirty-one different U.S. universities. At Wichita State, you will have access to laboratory facilities that are among the finest found in academic institutions worldwide.
As an engineering student, you have the opportunity to choose a cooperative education position that allows you to gain valuable engineering work experience at a company, such as NASA, Cessna, Boeing, Raytheon, or Learjet, while you are still in school. Undergraduate programs in aerospace, computer, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering are accredited by ABET. Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree programs are available in aerospace, electrical, industrial, and mechanical engineering.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
- High school senior accepted as an incoming freshman at this university.
- Intend to pursue a degree in engineering.
- Citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the time of application.
- Selection will be based on academic and leadership achievement.
Terms of Scholarship:
- One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded.
- Renewable for 3 additional years if criteria are met.
- This scholarship is not transferable to another university.
Application Deadline: December 15
How to Apply:
- Download the application and save it to your hard drive as a Word document.
- Complete the application. All applications must be typed (hand-written applications will be rejected).
- Email the completed application (in Word or .pdf format) along with any additional documentation required for each scholarship (e.g., SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) to scholarships@sae.org.

- All information must be submitted by December 15.
- Application for this scholarship does not constitute an application for admission to the university. The student is responsible for applying for admission to this university. If application to this university is not made before January 15, the scholarship application will be disqualified.
Selection and Announcement of Recipient:
- Recipient(s) will be selected and notified by this university.
- Results for the recipients of the SAE Scholarships Program will be posted online by the end of July.
Terms for Renewal of Scholarship:
- May be renewed directly through the university for three additional years if criteria are met.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
- Must demonstrate continued progress toward an engineering degree, with a minimum 12 hour enrollment.
