Brake Test Volunteer Information

Position Title: Brake Test Volunteer

Activity: Formula SAE Technical Inspection

Position Description:

This is a scrutineering requirement where the braking performance of the car is tested. All cars must accelerate hard and then lock up all four wheels simultaneously before being allowed to run in the on-track events.

Brake Test Volunteers will conduct brake tests of each vehicle to make sure all four wheels’ lock when car brakes and verify car/driver can remain in control of straight line. Once team passes the brake test a volunteer will award a tech sticker for approval.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/ Experience:

Brake Volunteers should have a general familiarity with motor vehicles.

Orientation and Training: All volunteers will need to read the rules, and will be given onsite training at the competition.

Work Conducted via: onsite

Time Commitment: 2 days (Thurs & Fri)

SAE Members only:  NO
