Answers for the Week of February 1, 2007

Question: Where can we find a backup alarm that meets the rules since the example in the rules is no longer available at J.C. Whitney.
Answer: Another example of an approved alarm is available at www.waytekwire.com, part # 48001.

Question: Our team has received a large number of components from Polaris through their sponsorship program, the cost report requires receipts for every part, and since Polaris does not offer a paid receipt can we just use our order form (obviously publishing retail price), which will show quantity and cost?
Answer: That will be fine, just make sure to use the full retail price and make sure it has the retail price on the paid receipt. If it does not have the retail price on the receipt then you will need to just show a copy from a catalog for that item with the retail price.

Question: How do you calculate the price of tubing? One method is to use the price per foot and the other method would be to use the prices giving in the costing guide by weight.
Answer: For any materials that you are purchasing (tubing, aluminum, steel, etc) you are to use the prices given in the costing guide.
